A short, plain-language agreement for reading and quoting Field Notes.

The writing

All dispatches are © Owen Marsh. Short quotations (up to about 200 words) with a link back to the original are welcome without prior permission. For anything longer — books, corporate reprints, curriculum use — please write in; permission is usually granted for non-commercial use.

Reader letters

By writing in to a Field Notes address, you grant permission for the letter (or an excerpt of it) to be quoted in a future dispatch, unless you say otherwise at the top of your letter. Anonymity is honoured if requested.

No warranty

The opinions in Field Notes are informal field reports, not professional advice. If you deploy a workflow from a dispatch into your business and it does not work for you, please write in with a correction — but do not sue.

External links

Occasional links to tools, other publications and small vendors appear in dispatches. Those sites are outside my control, and if one of them becomes something I would no longer link to, I will amend the report but cannot guarantee to catch every case immediately.
